If you’re playing at a real casino, you’ll need to place your bet before the dealer will deal two cards to the player and dealer, face up. You may bet on the player, the dealer, the tie, or any combination of the three. You are not allowed to bet on the side bet options here.
Once the bet is placed, the dealer will deal two cards face up to both the player and the dealer. Both cards will be dealt from a six-deck shoe.
Card Values
The value of the cards 2-9 are equal to their numeric value. The value of a face card (jack, queen, king) is 10. The Ace is the highest valued card at 1 or 11 depending on what is needed.
Card Suits
The suits (spades, clubs, diamonds and hearts) are not relevant in this game.
Dragon Tiger Rules
The Dragon and the Tiger are dealt one card each. The highest card wins. If the two cards have the same value, it’s a tie. If you bet on the tie and it happens, you’ll receive an 8:1 payout.
Dragon Tiger Payouts
The payout for the dragon tiger game is 1 to 1. So, if you bet $5 on the Dragon and it wins, you’ll receive a $5 payout for a total of $10.
The side bet options have different payouts.
Dragon Tiger Side Bets
You can make side bets in Dragon Tiger with better odds than the main game. Some of these bets may be found at some casinos, while others may be found at others.
Big-Small
The Big bet is when the sum of the two cards is over 11 and the small bet is when the sum is 11 or less. The payout for the big bet is 1 to 1. The small bet pays 1.5 to 1.
Odd-Even
The odd bet is when the sum of the two cards is an odd number and the even bet is when the sum is an even number.
